Long term care facilities have been hit hard during this pandemic and three more in Iowa confirmed outbreaks over the weekend, according to KWWL. The Harmony House ABCM in Waterloo had seven cases reported at their facility although it is unknown at this time if they are residents or staff. Living Center West in Cedar Rapids announced they had 12 cases confirmed at their facility. A third outbreak in Perry was also confirmed. A total of 16 long term facilities have reported confirmed outbreaks, including Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community here in Waverly. At least half of the COVID-19 deaths have been attributed to long term care facilities.
