Lowell Elementary to be Demolished

The Waterloo Community School District has announced that intend to demolish Lowell Elementary and build a brand new school on the same site, according to KWWL. Superintendent Dr. Jane Lindaman made the announcement yesterday while she was live on Facebook. Current Lowell students have been attending school at the former AEA 267 conference center on Cedar Heights Drive in Cedar Falls since the roof at Lowell caved in last winter. Lindaman says the Board considered many factors in making this decision, including the impact on students, their families, and staff. The new school is expected to be ready by the start of the 2021-22 school year.
