The Cedar Falls Maid Rite will be closed until July 11 after the restaurant’s owner died, according to KWWL. The Maid Rite in downtown Cedar Falls has been owned and operated by Penne Koeppel since 1980. The 64 year old Koeppel passed away at Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo on Sunday. The restaurant’s Facebook page posted around 7:00 Sunday night that they will be closed until the 11th in remembrance of Koeppel. They also thanked the public for their business and told them that they meant the world to Koeppel.
