Construction on Main Street in Cedar Falls is set to begin on Monday, according to KWWL. The entire road will be closed during this time with work beginning from 6th Street to 9th Street and from 18th Street to 21st Street. The work is expected to last 12 weeks. A detour will utilize College Street to the west and Highway 27/58 to the east.
Construction on Highway 27/58 at Ridgeway Avenue and Highway 20 in Cedar Falls will also begin on Monday. The first stage of this project will rebuild the westerly half including the side ramps of Highway 20. The second stage will shift to the easterly half. A detour will be at Viking Road and Hudson Road. This construction will see lane closures and eventually just one lane of traffic. The intersection of Highway 27/58 and Ridgeway Avenue will be kept open, but in a reduced capacity. The Ridgeway Avenue and Nordic Drive intersection will also stay open. Once this project is completed, work on Ridgeway and Nordic will begin.
