A North Liberty man has now been implicated in sexual assaults near the campuses of UNI and Hawkeye, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. Waterloo Police filed charges of first degree Burglary and second degree Sexual Assault against 24 year old Asante Adams after a break in at an apartment complex near Hawkeye Community College. Adams is accused of entering the apartment on March 10th while a female resident was asleep and sexually assaulted her. Then on April 10th a similar attack was reported at an apartment a couple blocks away from UNI. Cedar Falls Police added a second degree Sexual Assault charge to Adams’ docket in that case. Investigators collected DNA and fingerprints from the assaults and matched them but could not match them to anyone in their criminal database. Finally a tip from Cedar Valley Crime Stoppers led police to Adams, whose DNA matched that found at the crime scenes. The investigation into Adams continues at this time.
