A former Waterloo man has been arrested for allegedly causing his son’s spinal injuries, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 33 year old Ronterrick Cheeks, now of Eagle Grove, was the primary caretaker for his toddler son between October of 2022 and March of last year. During that time the child was seen by medical staff several times for what they called “non-accidental trauma”. The boy needed surgery for cervical cord decompression. Cheeks was arrested last week and has been charged with Willful Injury Causing Serious Injury.
