A La Porte City man was arrested over the weekend after leaving the scene of a crash and then threatening a witness who followed him, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 46 year old Grant Miller got into an accident in the area of Dysart and East Orange Streets around 12:15 Sunday morning. He then allegedly drove away from the scene. A witness followed Miller until Miller allegedly opened a folding knife and displayed it towards the witness. Police eventually found Miller hiding in some bushes in the 1500 block of Orange Road. They say Miller was slurring his speech and smelled of alcohol. Miller declined a field sobriety test and a breath test. He was charged with Assault While Displaying a Weapon, OWI first offense, and Interference.
