A Mason City man has been arrested after allegedly beating his girlfriend and setting her home in Rudd on fire, according to KIMT. 33 year old Tyrone Jones is accused of kicking the victim in the face, back, and back of the head, strangled her to the point she lost consciousness, and burnt her with a cigarette. He then allegedly stole two phones and started the house on fire before leaving. The victim says that he had used rope to tie her hands and feet to her bed previously. Jones has been charged with first degree Arson, Domestic Abuse Assault, third degree Theft, and False Imprisonment and has been booked into the Floyd County Jail on a $33,000 bond.
