A Waterloo man has been arrested for allegedly beating a woman with a hammer and an extension cord before sexually assaulting her on Friday, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 25 year old Houston Simmons III has been charged with second degree Sexual Abuse, False Imprisonment and other charges. The woman suffered a broken nose and other injuries to her head, arms, legs, and torso. When police arrived at the home to conduct a search warrant Simmons allegedly grabbed an officer around the neck. A charge of Assault on a Peace Officer was added to Simmons’ charges. He has since been released pending trial. Simmons was already awaiting trial related to allegedly assaulting a woman who responded to an ad he had posted for a dog for sale in November. He also allegedly possessed a gun and marijuana outside a downtown club in September.
