A man recently sentenced to probation for burglary has been arrested for another burglary, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. The fingerprints of 30 year old Denis Kekic of Waterloo were found at the scene of a garage burglary where $1,000 worth of tools, camping and fishing equipment were taken along with an AR-15 rifle. Kekic used a garage door opener from a vehicle outside the residence to gain entry. Police approached Kekic in the Walgreens parking lot on Ridgeway. He attempted to run but did not get far before being captured. Methamphetamine was found in his pocket. He was charged with first degree burglary, felon in possession of a firearm, second degree theft, and possession of meth. He was sentenced to probation in April of 2020 after a police officer noticed him riding the officer’s bike that he had not noticed was missing.
