An Oelwein man has been arrested for allegedly driving through a barrier marking bridge construction near Fairbank and colliding with heavy machinery. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was called to Highway 3 and W Avenue where they found that a Cadillac ATS had allegedly plowed through the barrier and crashed into an excavator. The driver, 24 year old Dillon Dugan was allegedly found to be impaired by alcohol. He was charged with first offense Operating While Intoxicated.
