A Waterloo man has been arrested after allegedly drunkenly firing a gun outside a home in the early morning hours of Saturday, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 42 year old Derrick Wilson has been charged with Intimidation With a Weapon, Reckless Use of a Firearm, Interference With Official Acts, Carrying Weapons While Intoxicated, and Public Intoxication among other charges. Neighbors in the 500 block of Linden Avenue called police around 3:10 Saturday morning to report gunfire outside. When police arrived on scene they could not find the perpetrator. Then, just after 4am the neighbors called police again to report the man was yelling and shooting his gun in the air. This time police found Wilson nearby with an alcoholic drink in his hand. Wilson declined to tell police his name and shoved an officer when they tried to search him for weapons. During the scuffle police found a loaded 9mm handgun in Wilson’s waistband and a spare magazine.
