A Waterloo man has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting an Uber driver, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. Police say 39 year old Darion Halliburton summoned an Uber just before midnight on February 10th. After the car arrived, Halliburton climbed into the back seat, displayed a handgun, and directed the female driver to pull into an nearby driveway. He then allegedly forced her into a home at 733 Dawson Street where he sexually assaulted her and held her against her will for over three hours. He has been charged with second degree Sexual Abuse.
Halliburton is on federal supervised release after being arrested for distributing crack cocaine in Cedar Rapids in 2008. He was facing a life sentence but took a plea deal and was released in November of 2020.
