A Waterloo man has been arrested after allegedly attempting to hit a woman with a metal pole, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 18 year old Marquel Mickey has been charged with Domestic Assault with a Weapon, First Degree Harassment, Public Intoxication, and Interference. He allegedly pushed and tried to punch the woman before picking up the metal pole with a hook on the end and swinging it at the woman. A witness was able to grab the pole and suffered a cut in the process. Mickey then is accused of searching for a gun to shoot the woman. Police arrived at the home before he could find the gun, at which point Mickey fled on a bicycle. He was taken into custody a short time later after a struggle. Police did find a gun in the home.
