A Cedar Falls man has been arrested after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend and then assaulting the police officers who tried to take him into custody. A woman entered the Cedar Falls Police Department just after 7:00 Wednesday night and reported that she had been assaulted by her boyfriend and had multiple injuries. She identified her boyfriend as James Gillam III. Gillam was located shortly thereafter at which point he resisted arrest and assaulted the arresting officers. He has been charged with Domestic Assault Impeding Air or Blood Flow Causing Bodily Injury, Assault on a Peace Officer Causing Bodily Injury, Assault on a Peace Officer, and Interference with Official Acts Causing Bodily Injury.
