A Waterloo man has been arrested for allegedly trying to sell some stolen shoes, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. In August a Waterloo resident reported a break in at his home and among the items stolen were several pairs of collectible shoes. On Wednesday the victim noticed some of the shoes for sale on Facebook Marketplace. The victim called police and set up a meeting with the seller, 45 year old Edward Whitney. Police tagged along with the victim to the meeting. Whitney brought 10 pairs of shoes, four of which matched empty boxes the victim had. Authorities believe the combined value of the shoes is more than $2,000. Whitney claims he bought the shoes on eBay for $750. He has been charged with second degree theft.
