A Waterloo man who pled guilty to robbing a downtown Waterloo bank in 2017 will not be allowed to change his plea, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 54 year old Steven Sisk asked for a new attorney after his initial plea deal arguing that his old attorney did not investigate the case and gave Sisk less than a day to consider the offer. Sisk received hip replacement surgeries before and after the August 2017 robbery. He argued his doctor should have been shown the security footage to determine if Sisk was capable of doing the crime. Judge CJ Williams denied Sisk’s motion to change his plea saying that his doctor was shown stills from the footage and was unable to rule Sisk out.
