The following is from the Waverly Police Department:
On 04/29/2025, the Waverly Police Department responded to an assault call in southwest Waverly. Pursuant to investigation and witnessing injuries consistent with the allegations of strangulation, Waverly Officers charged Bryan Victor Streich (50), of Waverly with the crime of Attempted Murder (a class ‘B’ felony). Streich was arrested and turned over to the Bremer County Jail for an initial appearance before the magistrate. Streich’s bond has been set at $50,000 in cash. If convicted, Streich faces up to 25 years in prison. The investigation continues.
**All parties are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
