A Waterloo man has been convicted of sexually abusing an 11 year old girl, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 37 year old Tahjah Shepard was found guilty of second degree Sexual Abuse following two days of testimony. Shepard abused the girl on November 27th. During the attack he put his hand around her neck and threatened to put her to sleep if she screamed. Shepard acted as his own attorney at trial where he denied the incident happened. He faces up to 25 years in prison when he is sentenced in April. He is also awaiting a retrial for allegedly assaulting the mother of his children in October. The first trial in that case ended in a hung jury.
