Man Convicted of Sexually Abusing Two Girls

A Waterloo man has been convicted of sexually abusing two teenage girls in a downtown Waterloo hotel in 2018, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 37 year old Curtis Lloyd was found guilty of two counts of third degree Sexual Abuse. He faces up to 30 years in prison when he was sentenced. Lloyd and three other men brought two 15 year old girls to the EconoLodge in May of 2018 where they all smoked weed and drank alcohol. One of the girls said she passed out at one point and when she awoke the four men were having sex with her. DNA evidence collected had too many contributors to determine individual identification. The defense argued that the girls were promiscuous. After initially sitting for interviews with police, Lloyd disappeared. He was finally tracked down in Arizona in August and brought back to Waterloo. Lloyd said he left after he was shot in an unrelated incident. One of the other men involved in the hotel incident, Robert Washington, pleaded guilty to Sexual Abuse charges and was sentenced to prison time. He has since been released.
