Man Faces Charges in CF Woman’s Overdose Death

A former Waterloo resident has pleaded not guilty to drug charges related to the death of a Cedar Falls woman, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 38 year old Eric Griggs has been charged with distribution of heroin resulting in death, possession with intent to distribute and use of communications facilities to facilitate a drug felony. The charges are in connection to the death of 19 year old Abigail Wilder. She was found dead in the home she shared with a friend and the friend’s mother on September 1, 2018. Investigators found texts and Facebook messages between Wilder and Griggs from the previous night. They also found a recorded phone conversation Wilder had with a friend in jail where she mentioned accompanying Griggs as he sold drugs. The friend also warned Wilder not to do too much H in one setting. Griggs was arrested in Illinois in January and returned to Iowa last week.
