A Waterloo man has finally been sentenced after his trial was delayed 26 times and he spent more than a year as a fugitive, according to KIMT. 26 year old Sayvonne Jordan was pulled over in Charles City in February of 2018 and found with a small amount of methamphetamine, nearly 32 grams of marijuana, prescription pills, over $1,700 in cash, plastic baggies, and scales. He was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession With Intent to Deliver pills. He pleaded not guilty and trial was scheduled for August of 2018. That trial was then delayed nine times before Jordan failed to appear for a hearing in April of 2019. A warrant was issued for his arrest, however he would not be found until June of 2020. The new trial was set for February of 2021 but proceedings were delayed another 17 times. Jordan has now pleaded guilty.
