Man Fired Shot After Being Attacked with Bear Repellent

A Waterloo man has been arrested after firing a pistol at a woman who attacked him with bear repellent in the parking lot of a Family Dollar store, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 23 year old Tyler Williams has been in an ongoing argument with 26 year old Kynesha Harrington and her boyfriend. Wednesday evening he was returning to his car after buying toilet paper when Harrington ran up on him and doused him in OC bear spray. She then ran to a van. Williams retrieved a permitted gun from his car and fired at the van. One bullet struck the van, the other broke a window at a Kwik Star a block away. Williams was charged with reckless use of a firearm causing property damage and is being held on a $15,000 bond. Harrington was arrested and charged with assault and has been released from jail. She is currently awaiting trial in another case where she intentionally crashed into a car and pepper sprayed a woman inside. She also was fined for pepper spraying another woman in another vehicle in July of last year.
