A Waterloo man has been found guilty of beating a woman in the middle of a downtown street in February, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 34 year old Robert Washington Jr. and 33 year old Denzale Ratliff followed the victim and her friends from the Vulture Lounge in the early morning hours of February 23rd. When they got near the Russell Lamson Building, the two knocked the woman down and repeatedly punched and kicked her and dragged her by her hair. A Waterloo police officer noticed the assault and pulled up to break it up. Washington fled but was later tracked down. He has now been found guilty of Willful Injury Causing Serious Injury. He face up to 10 years in prison when he is sentenced at a later date. Ratliff has a hearing for a possible plea deal in August.
