Man Guilty of Murder & Mutilation of the Corpse

An Elma man has been found guilty of murdering a New Hampton man and mutilating his corpse, according to KAAL. Jonathan Esparza went missing on October 20th of last year. His car was found abandoned in a ditch on November 11th. Then, in January Esparza’s remains were found in a burn barrel behind the home of Sayvonne Jordan. Esparza’s body had been dismembered. Jordan was arrested and charged with first degree Murder and Abuse of a Corpse. Jordan suspected Esparza had stolen methamphetamine from him that he had planned to sell. The jury took just three hours to come to their unanimous decision. Jordan will be sentenced on December 18th.
