The car of an Oelwein man is considered a total loss after he hit a horse in the road. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene just north of Oelwein around 5 Tuesday morning. They determined that 26 year old James Fleming was northbound in his Ford Fiesta when he struck the horse. Fleming was uninjured in the collision, the horse suffered minor injuries and was returned to its home.
