The man involved in a standoff with Waterloo Police at a senior living apartment complex has been identified, according to KWWL. 70 year old Greg Nelson has been charged with two counts of Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Assault on Peace Officers with a Weapon. Nelson, on Wednesday began firing a gun from his apartment prompting police to put several businesses on lock-down. Police attempted to make contact with Nelson but he refused to respond contrary to what was first reported. Finally a tactical unit was able to gain entry into the apartment and secure Nelson. He was then taken to a hospital before being released back to police.
