More details have now been released regarding an officer involved shooting in Waterloo on Monday, according to KWWL. The Division of Criminal Investigation, which is looking into the case, says that employees at Victory Motors called 911 around 2:45 p.m. to report a neighbor had pointed a gun at an employee’s face and fired a round at the property. That neighbor has now been identified as 41 year old John Piazza. He told the employee that he would return with a rifle. Police responded to an area behind Victory Motors where they observed Piazza point a long gun out of a window, allegedly at officers. An officer fired a round that allegedly killed Piazza. The officer has been placed on critical incident leave. The incident remains under investigation.
