A livestock station manager in Waucoma has pleaded guilty to manipulating scales when weighing pigs, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. Tyler Thoms used a crowbar to lift electronic scales while weighing and arbitrarily downgraded swine brought in for sale in Waucoma from 2018 to this year. He worked for Lynch Livestock which was under a 2017 consent agreement with the US Department of Agriculture at the time for previous weighing and sorting practices at the company. Thoms faces up to three years in prison and a maximum fine of $250,000.
