A Waterloo man already on parole for stealing guns has been arrested for breaking into a home and robbing a man of his money, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. Cody Smith told police that he was asleep in his home on October 25th when he awoke to a man digging money out of his pockets. The man allegedly struck Smith in the face and demanded to know where the rest of the money was. Police officers found 23 year old Demarrion Oden walking in the area. They found a large amount of money on his person. They also found text conversations where Oden discussed with others his plans to committ the robbery. Oden has been charged with second degree Robbery and first degree Burglary. He is being held on a $100,000 bond. He is already on parole for stealing guns from a home on two separate occasions in 2020 and for shooting at an SUV in 2019 injuring a woman.
