Man Rescued from River

A man had to be rescued from the Cedar River in Waterloo Halloween evening, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. Passersby noticed the man in the water under the Mullan Avenue Bridge around 5:30 p.m. The man was able to climb onto a log that was part of a log jam under the bridge and wait for a rescue boat to arrive, which it later did. The man was taken to the hospital for an evaluation. The man’s name was not released and it is unclear how he got into the river.
