A Center Point man who left the Waterloo Residential Correctional Facility in August and failed to return has been resentenced to prison, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 35 year old Paul White was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2019 for trafficking methamphetamine. He was being held in a Yankton, South Dakota federal prison camp before being moved to the Waterloo halfway house in March of last year to finish his sentenced. On August 6th he left the facility without authorization. When staff called him, he allegedly told them he would rather go back to prison than go back to the residential facility. A week later US Marshals arrested White. He has now been sentenced to one year and one day in prison for his escape. He will then serve three years on supervised release.
