A Waterloo man has been sentenced for attacking a woman walking down the street, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 31 year old Matthew McAhren saw the woman walking home on Ackermant Street around 10pm on October 26th. He pulled up next to her, jumped out of the car, punched the woman in the face, and took her phone, cigars, cigarettes, and $3 in cash. He eventually took a plea deal, pleading to first degree Theft and was sentenced to up to 10 years in prison and must pay restitution. The night after the attack McAhren tried to run a man over with his car in Exchange Park, wrecking his car in the process. He was sentenced to a week in jail in that case.
