A Waterloo man has been arrested after allegedly shooting at a woman outside her home early Tuesday morning, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. The woman told police that 50 year old Corelly Smith threatened to come over to her home and shoot the place up. He arrived at 12:45 a.m, which led to an argument. Smith then allegedly pulled out a gun and began shooting. The woman fled back inside the home. Smith then left the scene. Police found several 9mm shell casings and found part of a bullet that had pierced the house on the woman’s kitchen table. Police found Smith at his home and took him into custody. He has been charged with Intimidation with a Weapon, Going Armed, and Prohibited Person in Possession of a Firearm. Smith is prohibited from handling firearms due to a 2020 Domestic Assault conviction in Worth County. He has been released pending trial.
