A Waterloo man has been convicted of stealing the shorts and underwear off of a sleeping teenage girl at a sleepover, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. In a bench trial earlier this month Judge Joel Dalrymple found 26 year old Thomas Conner guilty of first degree Theft. In August of last year the 16 year old girl was at a sleepover at a home in which Conner also lived. The teen drank a Buzz Ball alcoholic beverage before going to sleep in a spare bedroom while her friends stayed up and played video games. Around 5:30am she awoke to Conner sitting at the end of her bed. When he noticed her wake up, he ran out of the room. The teen noticed her shorts and underwear were gone and went to her friends for help. They testified to hearing Conner’s portable safe around the same time. Conner’s stepfather demanded Conner open the safe, which led to an altercation. While the stepfather was not looking Conner took the teen’s underwear out of the safe and threw them outside and closed the safe. He then agreed to open the safe for his stepfather. Once he did they found other pairs of women’s underwear but not teen’s. Hers were eventually found and Conner was arrested. He faces up to 10 years in prison when he is sentenced at a later date.
In May Conner was sentenced to five years of probation after breaking into a female co-worker’s apartment in July of 2023. While inside, he left a note intended to cause her to become upset with her boyfriend. He also went through her underwear drawer.
