Man Who Broke Into Woman’s Home & Beat Her Up Sentenced to Probation

A Charles City man convicted of breaking into a woman’s home and beating her up has been sentenced to probation, according to KIMT. 42 year old Wyatt Jacobs has been sentenced to four years of supervised probation after pleading guilty to second degree Burglary. He must also complete all recommended substance abuse and mental health treatment and reside at a residential correctional facility for up to 180 days. On December 15th Jacobs used a ladder to climb through the upstairs bedroom window at his victims home sometime after midnight. The victim said she woke up to Jacobs yelling at her before he began hitting her in the face. As the victim tried to run away Jacobs threw an ottoman at her, striking her in the back. The victim was eventually able to get away and make it to a neighbors home. Jacobs and the victim had previously lived together.
