A man with an active arrest warrant out of Bremer County led law enforcement on a chase in Fayette County on Sunday. Sometime after 6:30 p.m. a Fayette County deputy attemtped to pull over a vehicle driven by 39 year old Nicholas Olliney, of Waucoma. Olliney was known to have a warrant out of Bremer County for fifth degree Theft and his license had been revoked. He led law enforcement on a high speed chase through Waucoma and into rural Chickasaw County. Olliney eventually got out of the vehicle and fled on foot into a wooded area. Drones and K-9 units were deployed to find Olliney. He was later found hiding in a cornfield and surrendered without incident. Olliney has been charged with Eluding- 25mph Over the Limit- Second or Subsequent Offense, Driving While License Revoked, Failure to File SR-22 Insurance, and Reckless Driving.
