The Mason City School Board has approved a new district logo design, according to KIMT. The school board, earlier this school year, voted to retire the Mohawk name and now a new logo has been approved. The new logo features a red M outlined in white and then black and a C with the same font and color scheme clipping the bottom right hand corner of the M as you look at the logo. Five semi-final logos were presented to a committee made up of coaches, boosters, students and community members. They then ranked the designs from “best” and “favorite” to “worst” and “least favorite”. The high school student government will be sending out surveys to students to suggest a new nickname in the coming days.
