Waverly Mayor, Adam Hoffman, has announced his candidacy for Bremer County Treasurer. Hoffman says he was encouraged to run to fill the vacancy by a supporter. He said he would not hold both the Treasurer and Mayor positions at the same time. Hoffman says he intends to hang on to the mayoral position until he is forced to give it up. If he is elected to the Bremer County Treasurer position he says he would resign as Mayor effective January 1, 2023.
Hoffman shared with us Monday morning that he understands some will be surprised by this announcement.
