Men Arrest for Burglary

Two Buchanan County men have been arrested after a break in in Waterloo, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. Police were called to the 500 block of Western Avenue on Monday night for a report of a burglary. When they arrived they found James Welton and Larry Clayton hiding in the basement of the home. Two other suspects fled the scene. During the break in a gun was fired, grazing a man in the face. Welton, from Independence, has been charged with fourth degree theft, first degree burglary, assault while participating in a felony, carrying weapons, intimidation with a weapon and being a domestic abuser in possession of a firearm. Clayton, from Hazleton, was charged with intimidation with a weapon, assault while participating in a felony, and first degree burglary. Their bond has been set at $100,000 each.
