A Mason City man has been arrested after being found with a stolen purse and more than five grams of methamphetamine, according to KIMT. An employee at the Hampton Inn called police around 5:00 a.m. Tuesday after 36 year old Christopher Quam was loitering in the lobby without being a paying customer. When police arrived they found Quam in possession of a purse that had been reported stolen from a vehicle in the area earlier that morning. Quam said he found the purse in a parking lot. During a search of Quam’s belongings police found methamphetamine, a digital scale, numerous small plastic bags, and syringes. He has been charged with third degree Theft and a class B felony county of a Controlled Substance Violation.
