Meyer Pharmacy Gets 5 Naloxone Kits

The Iowa Department of Health has distributed 2000 kits of Naloxone, the medication used to treat overdoses of opioids, throughout the state in an effort to curb opioid-related deaths. Meyer’s Pharmacy has received 5 such kits that will be given out for free Friday June 29th.

According to pharmacist Ryan Frerichs, these kits are intended to be kept nearby for any potential emergencies:

The kits are available Friday, June 29 on a first-come-first-serve basis. These are NOT meant to be administered for immediate overdoses; f you suspect someone is having an overdose call 911 for immediate medical emergancy assistance.
