More Bird Flu in Bremer Co

A second case of Bird Flu has detected in Bremer County, according to KWWL. This case was found in a backyard flock. The first case was found in a commercial flock. Bird owners are being asked to prevent contact between their birds and wild birds. Signs of Bird Flu include sudden increase in bird deaths, lack of energy and appetite, decrease in egg production, soft or thin shelled or misshapen eggs, swelling of the head, eyelids, comb, wattles, and hocks, purple or blue discoloration of the wattles, comb, and legs, gasping for air, coughing, sneezing, and a runny nose, stumbling or falling down, and diarrhea. Owners that suspect their flock has Bird Flu are asked to contact a veterinarian immediately. Currently poultry products remain safe to eat.
