More details have been released in the alleged murder in Cedar Falls Wednesday night, according to KWWL. 66 year old Kimberly Charlton called 911 at around 6:30pm on Wednesday to report that she had just shot her husband, 72 year old David Charlton, in the back while he was chasing the dog. Kimberly claims that David attempted to physically assault her but the dog intervened. At that point she says that David walked away but came back with a cane and threatened to hit the dog before chasing it out of the room and down the hallway. Kimberly says that is when she grabbed a gun and stepped into the hallway and pointed the gun at David’s back. She says she warned him that she was going to shoot if he did not stop before pulling the trigger. David died of a gunshot wound to the back at the scene. Kimberly has been charged with first degree Murder and is being held on a $1million bond.
