An Ames man has been arrested after more than 50 pounds of marijuana were found in his car during a traffic stop in Floyd County, according to KIMT. The traffic stop took place just west of Floyd back on February 16. The Iowa State Patrol says 22 year old Clayton Sullivan was speeding. During the stop a police K9 indicated the presence of drugs in the car. 50 to 60 pounds of marijuana was found in suitcases in the trunk and on the back seat. Law enforcement also found around two ounces of methamphetamine in a carrying bag and a sunglasses case, a large amount of cash, two loaded 9mm handguns, and a vitamin bottle containing over 200 pills, tablets or capsules of prescription medication. Sullivan has been charged with two counts of a controlled substance violation, two counts of failure to use a drug tax stamp, carrying weapons, and five counts of unlawful possession of prescription drugs. He is being held in the Floyd County Jail on $47,000 bond.
