A Sumner man has been arrested after standing outside an apartment complex with a baseball bat and shouting profanities. Police were called to 1012 E 1st Street around 7:30 Sunday night where they discovered 38 year old Marcus Herrmann had been attempting to entice a resident of the apartments to come out and fight him. He was located in his own apartment but initially refused to open the door and would only talk through a window. The officer was able to get Herrmann to partially open the door to talk to him however when Herrmann was informed he would be detained he tried to slam the door on the officer. The officer was able to catch the door with his foot, however Herrmann kept attempting to shut the door. The officer pulled out his taser and pointed it at Herrmann, at which point Herrmann complied. He has been charged with Disorderly Conduct and Interference with Official Acts and was taken to the Bremer County Jail.
