The contagious and preventable disease is back again. There was one confirmed mumps case last week in Black Hawk County.
According to the Black Hawk County Health Department Director, there have been seven confirmed mumps cases since the beginning of the year.
Right now, the health department is stressing the importance of students getting (MMR) vaccinations.
Black Hawk County has the second highest rates of mumps in the state with 93 cases and counting.
