The names of the Waterloo child who died after being hit by an SUV and the driver have been released, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. A Honda CR-V driven by 71 year old Allen Green was traveling southbound on East Mullan Avenue at around 7:20 p.m. Friday when it left the roadway and struck 9 year old David Chavez Morales, who was in a yard. Chavez Morales was taken to Allen Hospital but was pronounced dead there. The CR-V was found a short distance away, crashed into a retaining wall. Green was found inside, unconscious. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
