NC Woman Pleads Guilty to Check Fraud

A North Carolina woman accused of stealing someone else’s identity in order to steal money from First Bank branches in the KWAY area has pleaded guilty to three charges, according to KIMT. 49 year old Gloria Pantelis of Thomasville, North Carolina stole a social security card and driver’s license information from a vehicle parked at George Wyth State Park in Waterloo in October. She then used that information to cash checks at First Bank branches in Waverly, Plainfield, and Cedar Falls in late February. She has pleaded guilty to charges of second degree Theft, Forgery, and Identity Theft. Pantelis will be sentenced on September 25th in Bremer County District Court.
