Some enhanced public health measures were put in place in Iowa, beginning Tuesday, November 17th. Masks must now be worn in public buildings when individuals are within 6 feet for 15 minutes or longer. Indoor gatherings have been limited to 15 people and outdoor gatherings to 30 people. All sporting and recreational events are now prohibited except for high school, college, and professional sports. For high school sports and extracurriculars, the two spectators per athlete or performer goes into effect, including the State Football Finals. Students at those events will be allowed to be closer than six feet and do not need to wear a mask. Restaurants and bars will now be required to close at 10:00 p.m., there must be no bar seating, masks are required when not seated, and groups are limited to 8 people unless they are all in the same household.
